The AI Integrity Badge
Teaching-first • Ethically driven • Learner-focused

What is the AI Integrity Badge?
The GOER AI Integrity Badge is an official mark of trust and quality, awarded by GOER to online education providers who demonstrate the responsible, ethical and educationally-sound use of Artificial Intelligence in their platforms, content and teaching. In today’s rapidly evolving educational landscape, AI tools are transforming learning and teaching. Yet alongside opportunity comes risk: concerns over learner data, educational quality, transparency, and ethical use of AI in classrooms and tutoring spaces are increasing worldwide.
The AI Integrity Badge helps online schools, tutoring companies and educational platforms provide assurance to learners, parents, regulators and partner institutions that they are deploying AI in an appropriate, transparent and educationally-focused way. To earn the badge, providers undergo a specialised AI accreditation review as part of the GOER standards framework. Successful providers demonstrate that their use of AI enhances — not replaces — human teaching, protects learners, and upholds educational values.
The Five Core Standards Behind the GOER AI Integrity Badge
1. Enhancement of Teaching & Learning
- AI must be used to enhance, not replace human teaching and learning.
- Providers must show that AI supports pedagogy, deepens learner understanding, and improves engagement — without eroding the vital role of human educators.

2. Honesty & Transparency
- Learners, parents, and staff must always know when and where AI is used.
- AI-driven content, feedback, grading or communications must be clearly identified — and never misrepresented as purely human-led work.
3. Academic Integrity & Fair Assessment
- AI use must uphold academic honesty.
- Providers must have robust policies and systems in place to prevent AI-facilitated plagiarism, unearned credit, or unfair advantage.
- AI must not distort learner assessment or mislead stakeholders about student performance.

4. Ethical & Inclusive Design
- AI tools must be reviewed for potential bias and negative impact on learning equity.
- Providers must take reasonable steps to mitigate AI-driven bias and ensure that all learners are supported fairly through AI-driven experiences.
5. Learner Autonomy & Informed Consent
- Learners must remain in control of their learning journey.
- AI must not be used in ways that manipulate learner behaviour or data without explicit informed consent.
- AI recommendations and pathways should be transparent, and learners should understand how AI shapes their experience.
