Key Accreditation Criteria

To earn and retain accreditation with GOER (Global Online Education Regulator), institutions must meet high standards across five core domains. These ensure quality, safety, and learner-centred design in online, hybrid, or tutoring environments:

  1. Safeguarding & Wellbeing: Institutions must demonstrate clear policies, training, and systems that protect learners—physically, emotionally, and digitally.
  2. Teaching, Learning & Assessment: Curriculum delivery must be coherent, engaging, and outcomes-based, with support for diverse learning needs and reliable assessment practices.
  3. Leadership & Governance: Clear leadership structures and transparent decision-making processes must be in place, with a focus on accountability and ethical management.
  4. Digital Readiness & Data Protection: Platforms and tools must be secure, accessible, and appropriate for education. Institutions must show compliance with data protection laws and best practices.
  5. Equity, Access & Inclusion: Institutions must actively promote diversity, inclusion, and fair access—ensuring no learner is disadvantaged due to geography, background, or learning style.

To maintain accreditation, institutions must also commit to:

  • Ongoing quality reviews or spot checks
  • Updating evidence when key changes occur
  • Transparent communication with GOER and stakeholders

GOER accreditation isn’t a one-off certificate—it’s a living commitment to excellence.
